75th Anniversary

In March 1939 Mrs. WK [Myrtle] Kettle saw her dream come true when The Omemee District Horticultural Society was formed. In later years, the ‘and ‘ was added to reflect the area covered.

In honour of our society’s 75th Anniversary – the following activities were posted so that members would know what was coming in the future. Please read on to see what did happen in the big 75th Year!

  1. Yearbook: Our 75th Anniversary Year book will long be a keepsake. It is in full colour this year, due to the support of our many wonderful advertisers. Please read the many 75th Anniversary greeetings and please support our advertisers by shopping locally!

A special thank you to Suzanne and Mike Castell from NP Media Business Solutions, Omemee for organizing the printing of the books. Suzanne also helped design the amazing “exploding” cover of this year’s celebratory book.

It is fitting that our anniversary year program will end with Joe & Hazel, long time members and supporters of our group. Joe and Hazel made their very first public speaking engagement in front of our group! Now they travel all over southern Ontario to speak but admit that they still like to return to where they started.
