In the depths of snowy winter, imagine taking a deep breath of fresh forest air – all while never leaving your home!
Terrariums are fascinating things – a miniature, self-enclosed ecosystem encased in glass. Just imagine: a tiny rainforest on your desk year-round – always there for you to admire & inhale the scent of moss after rain. Put together correctly, this living piece of art requires little to no maintenance & hardly any water.
In this beginner-friendly workshop, you will learn how to design, assemble, & care for a terrarium with supplies you can acquire easily & affordably. Your terrarium will remain green & fresh year-round, making for an excellent conversation piece, companion to your work desk, or an enchanting gift.
Kiki is a gardener, florist, sometimes beekeeper, & a constant explorer with an affinity for tropical plants & a keen eye for moss. Her curiosity for the earth & its interconnected place within all of our lives is what fuels her fascination for gardening; & she has found herself an active member of the Master Gardeners of Ontario & multiple horticultural societies.
Seeking ways to make gardening accessible & to engage people in her love of “soul-to-soil; she began instructing workshops – teaching practical, science-based techniques in plant care, propagation, & building terrariums as a way to bring the endless forest indoors.
