Plans are in the works for our 2017 plant sale!!!!
Once again we will be holding the sale on the long weekend in May, so be sure to mark Saturday May 20 on your calendar!!!
Location is Omemee Legion – this venue worked well last year, and the “enter and exit” turmoil won’t exist! The sale will run from 9am to 11am – come early for best selection, and don’t forget to bring containers for your purchases.
Again this year, we will have three special geraniums! Add in hundreds of perennials, vegetables, shrubs, grasses – another great sale is promised. If all goes well, there should be a great selection of heirloom tomatoes available again this year! I’ll keep you posted!
Keep watching this site for updates – see you on May 20!
Contact me if you have any questions about this event!!! Sale will be held rain or shine (it’s inside) so see you there!

If you have been to this nursery before, you will know how lovely it is. If you haven’t – then you are in for a treat!
Some of you will remember the Burley’s when they spoke at our February Pot Luck in 2016, and brought in all the lovely tropical plants. Now we are visiting their garden centre.
Marg will speak to us in a large group at about 7. She will tell you about their nursery, her tropicals and some ideas for making fairy gardens. You will then be allowed to wander, and shop. You will see perennials, tropicals, a very large fairy garden display, and possibly some annuals if the weather warms up.
Parking is very limited, so please try to car pool if possible. We will meet at Trinity Church parking lot at 6 p.m. to load up cars. We will leave at 6:15 sharp.
The address is 2604 Television Rd ( just south of Parkhill)
We will be outdoors so please dress for the weather!!! In case of really inclement weather, please check your email for a cancellation notice. We hope all will be a go though!
Because of the cool weather, we are asking you to bring your own beverage (possibly a hot one) to warm you up. Also, bring a chair if you want to sit.

Many years ago, glaciers created geographical features in the Peterborough and Kawartha Lakes area. Don will be telling us about some of these features that we see regularly but may not understand how they were formed and their importance to the geography of our area.

Please join us to hear the dynamic Paula Anderson as she shares her love of fresh vegetables, from garden to table. Those of you who were with us when we visited her market garden and then her home garden, as part of our on site visit in 2013 will know that she loves her fresh vegetables.
Whether you grow vegetables in the ground, or in raised planter boxes, you will love listening to Paula as she shares her enthusiasm and the vast knowledge that she has at her finger tips.
