Horticultural Service Award
This is a certificate, inscribed by the OHA Association and affixed with the seal of the Association. It may be presented to one society member per year and only once to a given member. Criteria: (1) ten or more years of active membership in societies (2) Service on Society Committees, contributing time or effort to civic improvements and beautification, or public plantings (3) Encouraged membership enrollment (4) inspired the horticultural efforts of either individuals or groups (5) shown sincere interest in and supported the objectives of a Horticultural Society.
District Service Award
This is an engraved wooden plaque provided by the OHA. One nomination may be made per society per year to the District Director. From all the nominees, only one award may be made per District. Criteria: (1) An individual who has given effective, long service to a Society or District, preferably a minimum of 15 years. (2) has given extensive service to horticulture, exclusive of Horticultural societies
Hazel Wilson Centennial Award
The award is a Hoselton sculpture of a maple leaf on a piece of marble. There is a maple leaf keeper for the person receiving the award. The award will remain with the Director and be visible at each district event. It does not have to be presented each year.
The Award is for meritorious service to horticulture within District Four to a person with at least fifteen years total service in at least three areas (minimum three years in each) including but not limited to:
- Executive Officer of a society
- Director or Executive Officer of the district
- horticultural judge
- Master Gardener
- speaker and/or workshop presenter
- consistent donor
- grower
- other
One nomination may be made per society per year to the District Director. From all the nominees, only one award may be made per District.
