There is no doubt that Omemee and surrounding area, using the hundreds of plant purchased at our sale, will have beautiful gardens in 2011.
We owe a big “Thank you” to the plant sale committee, headed up by Suzanne Seryck for organizing our wonderful annual event. What a success it was! Many busy hands prepared the signs, printed labels, dug the plants at home and elsewhere, potted hundreds of plants, trucked them to the Curling Rink, set them up and organized them efficiently with the new signage for the sale. All of you are part of this amazing team! THANK YOU!
All the preparation and planning paid off on the day of the sale as customers swarmed in to find treasures for their garden. Horticulture members and Master Gardeners were on hand to give advice and answer questions.
Despite the cool, wet weather we were able to have a huge variety of healthy desirable plants (approximately 1,800 were donated) Well done everyone! Income from the plant sale allows us to continue with the Beautification Projects around the Village.
Any remaining plants were donated to the following future plant sales: Omemee Lioness, Mount Horeb Church Group, Peterborough Hort and Lindsay Hort. All of these groups have members within our Horticultural Group.
Once again, to everyone who contributed plants or helped in any way a most sincere “Thank you” and remember to recycle your pots so we can do this all again in 2012!!
