Join us for a Walkabout & some Retail Therapy as we wander several acres of gardens that include mostly full sun – low maintenance mixed beds, a shade garden that’s the start of a 2 acre woodland garden, several large, well drained, raised beds containing mostly sempervivums, jovibarbas & other drought tolerant plants as well as a large sand bed containing cacti & yuccas.

If you have been to this nursery before, you will know how lovely it is. If you haven’t – then you are in for a treat!
Some of you will remember the Burley’s when they spoke at our February Pot Luck in 2016, and brought in all the lovely tropical plants. Now we are visiting their garden centre.
Marg will speak to us in a large group at about 7. She will tell you about their nursery, her tropicals and some ideas for making fairy gardens. You will then be allowed to wander, and shop. You will see perennials, tropicals, a very large fairy garden display, and possibly some annuals if the weather warms up.
Parking is very limited, so please try to car pool if possible. We will meet at Trinity Church parking lot at 6 p.m. to load up cars. We will leave at 6:15 sharp.
The address is 2604 Television Rd ( just south of Parkhill)
We will be outdoors so please dress for the weather!!! In case of really inclement weather, please check your email for a cancellation notice. We hope all will be a go though!
Because of the cool weather, we are asking you to bring your own beverage (possibly a hot one) to warm you up. Also, bring a chair if you want to sit.

Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre is located at 1434 Chemong Road (Unit #4,) just on the outskirts of Peterborough.
Scheduled is a brief education on promoting turtle conservation and stewardship. Dr. Sue Carstairs, the on-site veterinarian (along with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers,) is dedicated to a comprehensive rehabilitation program. We can look forward to learning all about Ontario turtles, including tips to help turtles keep safe, and what to do if you find an injured turtle. In general, we’ll come away much more knowledgeable about turtles!
We will also tour the on-site Woodland Park (about an acre) which is planted with the environment in mind. Visit www.kawarthaturtle.org for more information.
This will be a very enjoyable evening!

*** an on site meeting
This on site garden tour promises to be “enlightning”!!! Steven and his wife are lighting experts and talented landscapers. (They recently completed a project for the Lakefield Hort Society and their members rave about it.) Steven is going to discuss landscaping techniques as well as show unique ways to light up your gardens. Very “enlightening!” Don’t miss this tour!
